John Dorizzi is a freelance drummer and drum teacher from Sharon, Massachusetts. With over 20 years’ experience as a professional musician, he has performed on over 30 CD releases. Artists and producers alike call on John to bring their visions to life. From clubs to weddings to “large production” concerts, this Berklee College of Music alumnus has performance experience across many genres.
Over the years John has played literally thousands of shows all over the USA. Some of the artists he’s recorded, performed and toured with include Division St., Duke & the Drivers, Tom Glynn, double platinum selling/Grammy nominated country artist Billy Gilman, Tony Roberts, Minky Starshine, Jillian Carderelli, AJ Edwards, Joe Merrick, Mike Previti, Tom Dixon, Chad Burdick, Yom Hadash, Alec McGillvery, Noam Katz and Brandon Lepare. Also notable music producers and musicians such as David Brown (Billy Joel, Julian Lennon), Dave Minehan (The Neighborhoods, The Replacements, Aerosmith), Anthony Resta (Duran Duran, Collective Soul), Isaac Hasson (Demi Lavato, Seleena Gomez, Hot Chili Rae) and Andrew James (Karmin, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lavato).
Currently, John is playing with the Ragged Impresarios, a professional backing band-for-hire, on a northeast 2015 tour with Tom Dixon. The Ragged Impresarios are also currently active with contemporary country singers Alec McGillvery, Chad Burdick and Billy Gilman.
John will be on a US tour with world music singer Noam Katz with stops in Detroit, MI, Bethesda, MD and Sarasota, FL. John is slated for a very special Joe Merrick concert at The Berklee Performance Center on April 18th, 2015 where he’ll be playing selections from Joe’s upcoming release along with a full orchestra accompaniment. In between high profile gigs, John teaches a full roster of drum students at White’s Music in North Attleboro, MA as well as teaching privately in the Boston area.
