Jeffery Lyles, 34, was born and raised in Chicago, IL. and grew up playing drums in church. Influenced by his uncle Timothy Scruggs (who gigged with several bands in several genres of music) at an early age, Jeffery kept his interest in drums through high school and became known around Chicago as Spook, the snare drummer with the crazy fast powerful rudiments. He joined the school jazz band and learned the true meaning of being not just a drummer, but a “musician “. Jeffery continued playing for churches after high school, started a band with some classmates and began to work professionally at 15. Around this time Jeffery began teaching marching band drum sections in schools around Chicago.
He currently plays with Deadman’s Hand of Joliet IL. as well as the Second Baptist church of Joliet for the past two years. He’s also getting ready to tour and record a second album with Deadman’s Hand, and B.O.C is getting a lot of attention, keep an eye on this up and coming clean, expressive drummer, guaranteed to make an impact on the drumming world! Deadman’s Hand is getting a lot of attention and will be touring this summer, and will be opening up for a lot of national acts this year!
