Joey PerfectTime RigginsJoey “Perfect Time” Riggins is one of the industry’s most pocket-oriented drummers of today. His time-keeping is impeccable, as he is often referred to as the “closest humanly possible to a metronome”. He is fluent in all styles of music, as he performs live, or in studio.

Along with being a professional musician he made time to pursue and complete his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Performance from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. The dedication to complete this task came in between tours, numerous studio sessions, and other live performances. He has played for, recorded and toured with local and national artists on both gospel and secular circuits including: national recording artist Marion Meadows (sax); world-renown jazz recording artist Najee (sax); national recording artists saxophonists Dean James and Mike Phillips; the late Malaco Records vocalist pastor/recording artist Rev. Paul Jones (I Won’t Complain); Grammy award-winning national gospel recording artist Edwin Hawkins; national recording artist Rev. John P. Kee; national recording artist Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers; and stellar and Grammy award-winning national recording artist Yolanda Adams, as well as other national recording artists, just to name a few.

During his performances, with any group he performs with, he always plays to enhance the musicality of the entire group. He has recently recorded with New Braunfels based blues band The No Refund Band, whose new CD is scheduled for release in April 2014.

rfect Time” Riggins recently (November 16, 2014) made his Houston debut as bandleader/drummer for the Houston-based R&B/Pop/Instrumental smooth jazz group “Pure Expose’-The Band. This group also performed weekly live shows at various venues.

Joey currently performs with Houston-based group Orion The Band, a 7-piece variety band that features 2 vocalists (male and female) and one background vocalist that constantly wows audiences wherever they go due to the band’s musical versatility. He recently performed with national recording artist The Rude Boys and LeVert II.
