Joseph Valladay was born in Chicago, IL on February 17, 1994. At the age of two Joseph would watch his Uncle Xzavian play as a street performer. One day, at the age of three, his uncle sat young Joseph on the drums at one of his performances and to every ones surprise, Joseph started to mimic his uncles moves. On that day, his family knew that Joseph had a true gift. His passion for drums grew as the years went on. As a young child Joseph spent many long nights practicing his craft to perfection.
At the age of nine Joseph joined the Riverdale Orchestra and from there he learned about percussion instruments. It was also at this age that Joseph started playing at events. As the years went on, Joseph played for many different genres of music such as Jazz, Soul, Funk, Gospel and Blues. In High School Joseph became a member of the Thornridge High School Marching Band under the direction of Mr. David Eanes. Mr. Eanes taught him how to read music, arrange vocal performance and play the piano, as well as enhance his percussion skills. Since his High School years Joseph has traveled nationally and globally touring with various artists.
Joseph has played for many artists, to name a few; Kim Stratton, Lemmie Battles, V. Michael McKay, Day 26, Chris Brown, Lily Kay, Jazz Trio, Supreme Money Makers, Dexter Walker and Zion Movement (2012 “How Sweet The Sound” Winners), Tyga, Twister, Valladay, Tunesha Crispell, Zzaje, Fonzworth Bentley, Ryan Leslie, Malcolm Williams, Lisapage Brooks, Phil Tarver, Judah, Vicki Winans, Dorinda Clark Cole, Cinque Cullar and many others. Joseph’s motto is, “God has blessed me with this precious gift and I know He will bring me before great men.”
