Phil Varone is an accomplished drummer, music producer and songwriter best known for his work with the bands Saigon Kick, Skid Row, Prunella Scales and currently, Red Dragon Cartel. As an independent drummer, Phil has played with Motley Crue’s Vince Neil, Pat Travers, Toto’s Bobby Kimball and Cheap Trick’s Robin Zander to name a few.
Long Island born, Varone began his fascination with drumming at the very young age of 7. Phil played percussion in grade school and continued well into the beginning years of junior high. As a teen, he decided to learn how to play full drum set and began listening to his favorite bands and drummers to develop his skills.
After more than 20 years as a professional drummer, Phil has played on recordings that have sold millions of units; he has toured the world numerous times and performed for millions of fans. Even after a very successful career, Phil still looks forward to what the future brings with the same enthusiasm he had the day the drumming began.
